Chelates are agents developed to incorporate metal ions into a soluble but bound form to make them available to the plant roots. Chelates prevent the highly reactive metals from binding to the soil factions and becoming unavailable to the plant. Chelates are often used as foliar fertilizers carriers because they are very soluble in water, but they are not as effective as Chemical Dynamics' delivery system, because the metal ions are not readily released from the chelating agent once they enter the plant.
